WHAT IS A VARICE AND WHERE CAN THEY BE SITTING?
These are dilations in the form of purple "balls" that appear under the skin. They sit in the vast majority of cases on the legs but they can also be at the level of the face, hands and feet. The varicose veins are due to a fragility of the wall of the veins which dilate under the pressure of the blood.
As the vein expands, the blood from the veins no longer rises to the heart and remains stagnant in the lower legs. This stagnation of the blood in the lower part of the legs causes pain and swelling of the legs.

- night cramps
- These varicose veins may be complicated by bleeding, phlebitis (clot in the veins)
